Social Issue GAY RIGHTS

I feel that gay rights should be approached more. People should be able to do what they want to do when they go out side or they stay home. If a man wants to date a man then he should be able to date that man. If an woman wants to date a woman then she should be able to date that woman and bot be criticised by being different. Most people should not bully tease or even try to kill someone who is gay because that is none of there business and they should not be worried about what people do with there life. Many people need to be more tolerant. And more compassionate of how gay people are feeling a certain way that a girl can't get a boyfriend or a boy can't get a girlfriend. Some feel a certain affection for there same sex. Because of lack of confidence they feel like they can't go out to have as much fun as they want to because of discrimination. I want to show people that you can be what you want to be do what you want to do.

The Color Purple response 2

Elleshamma Walker
Pages19-30

So far in the book in the very beginning she gets raped by her own father and she had many babies by him. Celie has been trough lots of stuff. She has seen many thing in her life. I can relate to her {Celie} because in my life I have seen lots of things just like did. I think the author really put lots of experience from not only her self but for other people also. She is very descriptive when it comes to characters talking about what was going on like the part where this woman Sofia was in a yard watching with her children how her husband Harpo was working. Even as disruptive as having a baby and the way she screamed at the top of her lungs when the baby started to come. So I think that Alice Walker has put her and other peoples experiences in to her book. Celie feels as if she has to survive so she never gets in to a dis respective mode. Netie {her little sister} tells her that she has to learn how to fight so the kids won't take over her life. Shug Avery { a star that gets sick and no one would take care of her accept for Mr______ because he is in love with her. Now Celie has to care for her to even though Shug called her ugly the first time she met her.

The Color Purple bookclub response 1

Elleshamma Walker
Class 802
Title: The Color Purple
1-9 PGs
So far in "The color Purple" the main character's name is Celie and right in the beginning Celie gets raped by the person who raised because her mammy was to sick to h ave sex with the husband. The husband took advantage of Celie and he was the one who got her pregnant twice .
Now Celie's mother is dead and the husband gets worse on Celie. She got beat for winking at a man in church. Now the man wants to take her little sister Netie but the husband says no because she is way to young to be a mother o his three children. So the husband says that he could have Celie because she is the next one and the oldest and he tells the man that he do not need no fresh woman inferring the fact that she got pregnant twice. He raped her because his wife was sick and could not make love to him so he told Celie that she would make up the stuff her mother couldn't or did not do for him when he asked.

Alice Walker response

I can relate to Alice Walker because we have the same birthday same last name and we both have four or more brothers. I also can relate to her because as an eight year old my tom boy years were over. When she was a young girl her right eye was damaged. When I was born my left was weaker than my right eye and until this day I have a stronger view with my right eye. I think she is a very strong woman she mainly talks about what used to go on with anger, peace , being creative and slavery I think she wants to open the eyes of not just young people but every one.

Earthes lullaby

The Earth dances around the sun when it is
bright out side and happy it dances fast.
And when it is dark and sleepy out side it sways
slowly and peacefully.
I thought that one day the Earth
would get so very very tired but
every night it sings, dances and still got
lots of grove when it comes to the morning times.
I t makes me laugh and rocks me to sleep.
When I am all tired and worn out he guides
me home with the view of the stars in the sky.
It sings its lullaby to me when I can no quite
fall asleep so he sings his lullaby to me as I dose of to sleep.

Shakesspeare response sonnet 29

This sonnet poem #29 is mostly about loneliness. I know this because in the poem it quotes that

"I all alone beweep my outcast state,"

And when this man read it he start to cry with loneliness. I can infer that he was lonely through out his life because he says his real mother died when he was eight months and he was in an orphanage. I think Shakespeare wrote this poem to describe how many people live and feel. He wrote this poem with great power and feeling so that you can dig deep to understand.

Still I rise response

I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,

This quote from the poem of Maya Angelou
is a metaphor.
The theme of the poem is that you can not bring her down
she will still get back and brush her self off
and just because she is a woman does not mean you treat her like an animal.
Moreover, some men treat women like they own them.
And thats why Maya Angelou is saying"still I rise.

America I am.

America I am

I AM AMERICA
AMERICA I AM
YOU CAN NOT TELL ME
I AIN'T CUZ I DON'T,
SPEAK THE WAY YOU SPEAK,
LOOK THE WAY YOU LOOK,
I DON'T WALK THE WAY YOU WALK,
I CAN'T TALK THE WAY YOU TALK.

BUT I TOO AM AMERICA
AMERICA I AM!

but being that i am different
you tr to distroy who I am
BUT! to me I too am America and,
AMERICA I AM.

YES I AM
YES I AM.
I TOO AM AMERICA
AMERICA I AM.

THE TRUTH LIES BENEATH YOUR SKIN

The truth lies beneath you
your skin.
I can see the through
you like an invisible person you appear to be.
No one can see the world the way I can.

I can't see the world in your point of view
but I feel as if I understand the concept
of how you react to it.

The truth lies, beneath your skin.
Playing tricks on your mind.
A beginner must be taught,
And a teacher must have tools.

No money can't buy you nothing ,
but all the money in the world
can't buy you every thing.

The truth lies beneath your skin
like flesh eating bacteria.

THE TRUTH!!

ROMANCE OF VALENTINES DAY

Romance of Valentines Day

On that one and only special day
the day you took my love away.
That one part of love
the part of my heart
will stay above
I wanted you from the start.

Romance of Valentines Day
I really want you to stay
with me
you will get to know who I am
and who you want to be
boom boom boom
my heart beats
its moving around
like musical chairs and musical seats.

you were sent from heaven
your lucky number one and not number seven.
I want to be the one you love
you are my rock my star above.
Romance of valentines day.

NEGRO GIRL

Yeah I'm that negro girl
But I'm not darker then the whole world
I smell so sweet
Come listen to my heart beat.

But yeah I'm that negro girl
you treat me like the trash YOU are
While i can sit here and shine like that star.

Well today is my birthday
And it feel like the worst day
But I am not ashame
To reveal my name

And yeah I'm that negro girl.
{inspired by langston hughes "NEGRO"}

I AM

I am

I am the river that flows day and night
I am the i in fight
I am the lion the queen of the jungle
I am the one you stopped with a stumble

I am not the one to doubt
I am not the one to pout
Take my hand and lead the way
I am here but not to play

I am filled with beauty in and out
when you see me I make you wanna shout
I am filled with laughter
And I live happily ever after.
THE END

Black history boy

That Black History, Boy I do not
know what to do about him
He has the best most taming yet,
chaotic
voice and Melony I have ever
heard
He sings to me when I feel down
about something
He tells me change
has come because Obama got
elected in office
as president
He reminds me that I have to look
at the fact that I am
very lucky because I have been
through a lot but,...
I do not truly know the meaning of
being hurt meant when it came to being a slave.
But that black history boy
he treats me so good
to me and i would like to think him
for all the love he has showed me .
He reminds me every day how luck I am
how wealthy and fortunate I am.
He tells me to stay in the light on the bright side.
"Go strong when the fire comes your way"
That black history boy.

Chanckera response BM 2

Elleshamma Walker
Feb 6,2009

In this poem this young lady was hit by her boyfriend she compares herself to her older sister because her sister got hit or beat up by all her men. So Chankera says that after he hit her she looked into his eyes and say her sister now she is in class and says that she had a late run in with her sister. I can connect this poem and this young lady to some I know because it is called "bruised love" and some girls and women are getting hurt and scared by the men they supposedly love and she is young and deserves better as her friend quoted in the text.
Chankera also uses lots of similes and metaphors in her poem. I think this poet is feeling that as she quoted in the text that "women ain't no punching bag" so she seems to upset at the fact that some boys and men think they control girls and women. I can infer that Chankera does not want to get beat on because of her actions.

Elle's view on poetry 1

So far all my life I have loved poetry. I grew in to it more and much more when I discovered my ela teacher Ms.Johns. I have always loved to write poetry to express my feelings. in which no one would under stand. When it came to the point were I was really good at I started taking data of it and writing it in note books. Poetry can do and mean so many things. Especially when it comes to feelings. And that Elle's view on poetry.!!!

MY OPINION

The thing about blogging is that you share what you read, what you have read or what you 've heard someone read. You can infer many things . Tell hat the charector is feeling. I think that bogging is a way to communicate your ideas or many other thing and etc.

My teacher, when it comes to blogging she is really strict because she grades them as if they are book reports. I want to pass so I just do it even when she nags me in advisory. More over any one ca blog about any thing they want to.

I would say if you have an idea or any thing positive you are able to write so that other people like Mr. levy can view. "GO MR. LEVY".

Inaugural poem response 1

Praise song for the day
Elizabeth Alexander

I think the title "Praise Song for the Day" means that change could be good or bad because it's almost like a flashback to me when we think of the slaves and all the black leaders who helped change our world we give thanks to them. For example, she quotes "
Say it plain: that many have died for this day.
Sing the names of the dead who brought us here". I think she says this to make us visualize all the things they have done to keep the racism out of our world. Moreover to keep us all equal.
